Well, it's a day camp where kids ages 9-18 from Briscoe, Hall, Motley, Cottle, Dickens. King, Kent, Stonewall, Foard and Knox counties are invited to participate in a day full of fun and recreation on Fri- day, July 13, 2012 in Roaring Springs, TX. The camp begins at 10:00 AM with registration. There will be interesting work- shops on exciting topics such as wildlife techniques, team build- ing, a fitness challenge, archery, as well as rocketry. Follow- ing the workshops and lunch everyone is loading up and head- ing to Roaring Springs Country Club to go swimming in the Springs. In the evening we'll enjoy hotdogs and learn (or show off) your dance moves with a live DJ. The day concludes at 9:00 PM and we will return to Knox County. The cost of the camp is $20.00 which covers two meals, snacks, and swim- mmg. All youth are welcome to attend. All you need to bring is your swimsuit, towel and signed medical release form you can pick up at our office! If this sounds like a great way to spend a summer day, give County Agents, Lorrie Coop or Jerry Coplen, a call at the Knox County Extension office as soon as possible so we can get a head count of how many will be attending and arrange transportation. The one day camp will begin at 8:45 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. It will be held at the First Baptist ChurchActiv- ity Center in Haskell, TX. Youth ages 8 11 may attend the camp which will focus on Food Preparation, Nutrition, and Healthy Lifestyles. A variety of hands-on activities will be conducted throughout the day to teach participants basic food preparation skills, general nutri- tion, and actions to implement to insure a healthy lifestyle. Cost of the camp is $20.00 per participant and includes workshop supplies, lunch, snacks, games, and door prizes. To attend, youth must pre-register and pay the regis- tration fee by Thursday - July 12. The camp is limited to the first 25 registered.
